Zinc plays an vital role on all plants
1. Zinc can promote photosynthesis of crops:
Zinc is an obligate activated ion of carbonic anhydrase in plant chloroplasts, which catalyzes the hydration of carbon dioxide in photosynthesis. Zinc is also an activator of aldolase, one of the key enzymes in photosynthesis.
Action 2, zinc can participate in the synthesis of auxin indoleacetic acid:
Zinc indirectly affects auxin formation because it promotes the indole and serine synthesis of tryptophan, which is a precursor to auxin synthesis. When zinc deficiency occurs, the auxin synthesis in crops decreases, especially the content in buds and stems decreases significantly. The growth and development of crops are stagnated, the leaves become smaller, the internodes shorten, and the formation of leaflet clusters are the symptoms.
Action 3, zinc can promote crop protein synthesis:
Zinc is closely related to protein synthesis, and it is found in RNA polymerase, which is required for protein synthesis. At the same time, zinc is not only a component of ribosomes, but also necessary for the structural integrity of ribosomes.
Zinc is an essential component to stabilize ribose in crop cells:
Zinc deficiency in crops also reduces RNA and ribosome. In recent years. Normal ribosomes were found to contain zinc, and in the absence of zinc, the cells were extremely unstable, suggesting that zinc is essential for stabilizing cellular ribosomes.
Effect 5. Effect of Zinc on reproductive organs of crops
In the case of zinc deficiency, the flower buds of tomato are oval and the sepals are sparse. As the flower bud grows, anther growth stops. The anther length is only about 1/3 of that of the normal anther. The style and ovary are slightly stronger than that of the normal plant.
